Gabrovo
The town of Gabrovo is situated along the two banks of the Yantra river at the northern foot of the Central Balkan mountain range. 220 km from the capital Sofia, 274km from Varna and 234km from Bourgas.
Geographically Gabrovo is in the centre of Bulgaria and is famous for being known as the Bulgarian capital of humour. The House of Humour and Satire is a museum devoted to international humour and hosts a festival every 2 years in May to celebrate this.
