Razgrad

Razgrad is situated on the Loudogerie plateau in the valley of the Beli Lom river. 375km north east of the capital Sofia, 66 km south east of Rousse and 130km from Varna.

The town is the centre of the Bulgarian pharmaceutical industry and has traditionally not been well known for its tourism however this is now changing to attract investors into the region. One of the potential attractions is the Pchelina area with its abundant forest and lake which make it ideal for hiking and camping. There are also plans to build a golf course nearby to attract golfers from abroad. The Voden hunting reserve with its deer and wild boar has specially tailored hunting tours organised all the year round.

The development of tourism is now a major priority for the region.
