Shoumen

The town of Shoumen is situated at the eastern mouth of the Shoumen Plateau, 380 km from the capital Sofia and 90 km from Varna.

The fortress town dates back to the middle ages and has many architectural monuments to attract the tourist as well as preserving its ancient culture.

The Nature Park is an ideal place for holidays and suitable for mountain biking, rock climbing and cave exploration.

The town has a lively night life with several small night clubs and discos and traditional Bulgarian restaurants. There is a theatre located on a pedestrian walkway which in the summer is a favourite place for a drink in one of the numerous open-air cafes, nestling between the shady trees along the main street.
